Greece!

07. September 2008 | en

Today was mostly a day of driving. After the terror of the day before we slept in for a late start and headed towards the Greek border, only to cross over on a Sunday, where nothing was open and we had no food! We had to head towards the city of Alexandropoli, only to find that even here most things are closed! Finally we eat and for the sake of simplicity we head to the Municipal camping as it is already past 6 30 and it gets dark here at about 7 30.

Welcome back to the EU! 20 Euros for CAMPING! The night before we had a 4 star hotel for almost the same price, and that came with breakfast! We have a budget of 30 Euro a day, and even with the gas prices in Turkey we have been safe within this. Some days were 35, but then some were only 20 or 25. So we hightailed it out of there, and as it became too dark to see we pulled off road and camped in an olive groove.

Griechenland!
