We made it! A day earlier than we had thought, but we made it. The day started awesome with Patrick dropping Wilma on the way out of our campsite (and me keeping Betty up despite not breathing the full 5 minutes it took to get down off the hill. Did I mention there was no road? Just grass, dirt, rocks and trees? :P )
We were unsure if we could camp or not, we thought we would drive up, check out the situation, check into a hotel or pension, and go up the next day. We wanted to see the cool old castle bridge and then check out Nemrut.
But we were finished with the bridge by 3, and we really wanted to check out Nemrut. :P
There is so much to say, but in this case I think pictures tell a 1000 words. We camped up there with some other people, and we got to see sunset and sunrise, and it was worth every second of the trip so far.

Wir haben es geschafft. Gestern sind wir auf dem Berg angekommen. Schon von weitem sieht man den Nemrut die umliegenden Berge überragen. Eine Strasse führ bis fast auf den Gipfel. Vom Parkplatz aus muss man noch eine Viertelstunde laufen, dann ist man oben und kann die Götter auf ihren Thronen betrachten. Die Köpfe sind ihnen im Laufe der Zeit abhanden gekommen und liegen am Boden verstreut rum.
Sie geben dennoch ein beeindruckendes Bild ab, vor allem bei Sonnenunter- und aufgang. Deshalb haben wir auch oben (am Parkplatz gezeltet). Das frühe Aufstehen (4:00) hat sich gelohnt, die Aussicht ist atemberaubend.
Wir sind an unserem östlichsten Punkt angekommen, jetzt geht’s weiter nach Kapadokien zu den berühmten Höhlenwohnungen.
