We spent the morning enjoying our campsite. We woke up slowly, had coffee, read, and finally lugged ourselves down to the beach for a salty wash (we figure salty was better than just plain dirty, and at least feeling wise, its true!). BUT, Im not so sure I would recommend it for Patrick in the future. His hair has transformed from lovely soft curls to just standing stock straight standing on end. But the picture is still cute. ;P
We would have stayed at the beach one more day except it was Friday, and a known camping spot. A few empty beer cans lying around and I thought it better we travel on. Besides the temple ruins of Asos were just an hour away. And it was only 2 pm. We still had lots of time! Lots of time left to the hot afternoon that is. In our biker gear. Neither of us with summer pants. Me in leather.
Insert Wicked Witch of the West ‘Im melting’ shrieks.
But the temple was cool, and worth a visit (go in the morning for a more pleasurable experience). When I was living in Istanbul Patrick came to visit me and we went to Pergamon and Troy. Which means we are skipping both on this trip. Troy is not worth the effort of getting there, but Pergamon was fantastic, and I recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Turkey. But i think we enjoyed it way more in late October, early November than we would the beginning of August!
