So we all sat off together in the morning, we would ride the pass together, have coffee, and myself and Patrick would set off by ourselves and Patrick`s family would turn back towards Switzerland.
Please keep in mind i have now been driving for all of 2 days and I have had my licese for all of one week. That one week did not
even fully count because when I passed I was giv en a piece of paper SAYING I had passed, but that until I exchanged that piece of
paper for my actual updated license, I was not to drive.
Does it sound like I may be making excuses? Good because at this exact spot:
I spectaculary dropped my bike. As in cruised in, hit the brakes, went to put my foot down, and then I was standing upright, but my
bike was bike was no longer rubber side down, but rather shiny side down. We had a friend in South America who always said he had
dificculity keeping the shiny side up, I think it may be a thing with BMWs. ;P

Finally Austria!

Flat Stanley was not the only travel companion we gained. As we were packing up Andreas gets a text message:
Where will you be at 12 pm EXACTLY? (ok In German, but that only makes it funnier as its PÜNKTLICH or however you spell it. I cant spell my own language, do not require me to spell another.)
Patrick´s father had decided to join us for part of the tour. For those of you who do not know Patrick’s father some background may be needed. This is the man who went from the Lake Konstance area to the North Pole in 3 days, and about 3000 kms. The very first time I went on the family motorcycle tour with Patrick´s family we all met in Utwill the night before. At 10 pm exactly we were all called to the table and given sheets of paper. On the sheets were our driving formations, as well as times. Next to each time was a destination, the expected kilometers, and how long we were allowed to stay there to pee.
Ahem.
When my parents came we knew Patrick`s dad was the one to ask about the best route from Utwill through Switzerland into Italy. We were given not only the route, but also estimated times, and not as in 10 ish, but rather 10 04, 11 39.
I would make fun except he is normally right. And that just scares me.
And so he covered in a morning, what had taken us a day and a half.
And so we camped near Melk on the Danube in Austria, and I have now driven 2 full days on my brand new license. :)

Reserl is on the mission Jeden Tag wird etwas für unsere grosse Reise organisiert.
