Ninos!

First stop was Thessaloniki to get my bike fixed. We found that both bikes had a slight catch in the turning. We noticed it on my mind after we left Ankara, but Patrick´s we noticed before. Patrick was pretty sure it was going to have to be replaced, as once the bearing had created a groove there was nothing to be done. The BMW mechanic however insisted he could fix it with a minor alternation.
So we headed to Nino´s TechnoShop to get mine fixed as well, and as nice as it was that the BMW mechanic did not charge labor and parts to replace it, it also went to support Patrick´s theory that its best to avoid official dealers while on the road (we only went because we figured it was leaking too much to make it safely to Nino´s Technoshop anyway). George checked it out, and was only too willing to grease it so that we could make it back to Germany and have it repaired there (and when I am working again and not living off savings for the trip!), but the first thing he said was the exact same thing Patrick had thought. When the damage has occurred, its done. We fix it now, or we patch it for another thousand kilometers. But either way we need to replace it.
But the price was so much better than the BMW dealers for a better job. Joscha and Ed were lucky to have found him, and I am so glad they recommended him to us. An Enduro driver himself, he was only too happy to take our map of Greece and give us the best roads and recommendations for our drive through Greece and into Albania. It was worth the drive through the hot busy city just for the recommendations he offered, because I ended up falling in love with Greece on the drive from Mt. Olympus to the Albanian border.
