Onwards South!

10. August 2008 | en

The call of the internet is strong in us, and though we had everything out of the rooms by the 11 o clock check out, we did not actually LEAVE our hostel until about 2 when we has exhausted all internet desire. Its like crack, and there is nothing worse than not only knowing you wont have it for awhile, but not knowing WHEN you will have it again.

But perhaps even more nerve wrecking for me is the fact that we headed today towards the mountain with nice off roading that Joscha recommended. With our late start however we had just enough time to get on the mountain and find a camp site for the night, and tackle the unthinkable the next day!

In our search for the perfect camp site not only were we incredibly lucky, but we were also reminded of just how wonderful, sometimes too nice, the Turkish can be. The ride to our site was a little off the beaten track and would make a fantastic video for the podcast. And so we set it up and off we went, only to be hollered at by two Turkish bikers as we turned off the road and were heading towards the hill.

We of course thought we were about to be told off for riding down there, or that they had found the camera. In fact they thought we were lost and were following a dead end. And then they took 30 minutes to show us on the map the best way to go with the best roads. Of course Patrick wanted the opposite ones. We are always told of the best roads – the ones with no curves – because curves are dangerous. ;)
