Hattusa and Wild Camping

25. August 2008 | en

So the pictures for Hattusa are over on the log entry for the hotel in Hattusa, but we actually checked the place out today. The cool part was we were given a guide for free and we could drive the bikes from site to site. The place was huge. And deserved more enthusiasm than we could give it. Truthfully at this point we are getting a little tired of ruins (hey I am a modern historian in training, not an ancient one, and I have no background in Archeology.) Plus I think Ephesus really spoiled us in terms of ruins.

But our campsite tonight was by far and away the best site we have had yet. Just off the road, but behind these big hills, Patrick said it reminded him of Mongolia, and it made me ache as I have always wanted to go (Ok so there are few places I have not always wanted to go, but whatever).

:)
