Unterkunft in Madrid suchenYou Will Not Drop Out Of The Sky

I am sitting here at Stuttgart airport waiting for my friend Liana to arrive and decided to use the time productively as I have have the time to be productive. Actually it was because the phone rang and it was here saying she is on the train and not to panic that I remembered what I wanted to pass on from Madrid. I found this out quite by accident. But mid way through the flight (or a little more as we were in Spain) I hear beep beep beep. I think to myself, wow that sounds like my cell phone getting a message, but naaaaaaaaaaah, I turned it off. 20 minutes later I get another beep beep beep. I sheepishly check. Not only have I not turned off my phone, but the only thing I did manage to do was turn off vibrate so the whole plane would know who was breaking the cardinal rule of flying. When flying with me make sure you have your life insurance quotes before hand.

Shop Till You Drop...Or At Least Until Your Credit Card Melts

One thing Madrid is absolutely fabulous for is the shopping! My camera went wonky, and I lost a lot of my pictures, Well not really lost them, but they all red and purple lines going through them which just spoiled the whole effect really. Plus I spent the whole day Saturday shopping, and I bought lots of pretty new clothes. My vow of less stuff melted with the first catwalk perfect window. That this was designer did little to disway me, but rather made me vow to work longer hours. (No fears, I never bought the $600 sweater, the $200 scarf, or the $1000 dress. I just merely questioned my commitment to my new path of less is more). A couple of days back in the heartland of Swabia should cure me of it, no worries.
But I did find some less upscale shops with lots of deals, and so less time picture taking, more time shopping. I mean everyone is Madrid is top of the line. Even the children have perfect hair and the most up to date fashions. It begged you to roll around in capitalism and come out smiling. Ignore starving children, buy yourself a pretty new pendant and a cat bed for your cat, because we all must luxuriate in the happiness that is shopping. And shopping is on offer in Madrid. wheeeeeeeee

The Hostel
11. Februar 2008 | en
I am all over being on the cheap when traveling. The cheaper you do it, the more time you have for travel. However there is a perfect reason why one should do whatever they need to do to afford a little luxury while traveling. The 8 person hostel room.
Oh My god SHUDDER. It was an all womans dorm room. You expect maybe a late night partier to straggle through the doors at any old hour, maybe bang around a bit, and then pass out. Annoying for sure, but you can indulge in early morning banging around, everyone accepts it, and everyone remains friends.
Only in my room there was a middle aged woman who I am 100% sure she must be on testosterone boosters her snoring was that freaking loud. Even worse was that she came in 2 am, did the drunk banging around, woke the other 9 of us up, collapsed into her bed, and did not pass out, but rather attempted to to suck the room in through her nostrils before spitting it back out. My father does not snore this loud. And my father has been kicked out of my grandparents cabin for his nocturnal war with the atmosphere in gathering air into his lungs. She was terrible!!! I came back and checked what Liana booked for us in Croatia, 3 bedroom, so only one stranger, and if were lucky there wont even be another person.
gaaaa
