Wir beschließen anstatt ans schwarze Meer zunächst nach Sofia zu fahren. Das ist näher und wir wollen bei dem Regen lieber die Stadt angucken als durch den Regen zu fahren. Die Pläne können sich innerhalb weniger Minuten ändern. Eine Herausforderung aber auch das Schöne an (Fern)-Reisen.
Wir haben inzwischen schon über 3.000 km hinter uns. Sherrie wird immer sicherer auf Betty. Das Motorrad umzudrehen ist zwar immer noch ein Problem aber sie wird von Tag zu Tag sicherer. Ihre ersten Geländeeinlagen hat sie auch schon absolviert. Der Türkei sollte nun nichts mehr im Wege stehen!

And the plan changes yet again. We woke up to continued rain. Boo. The plan was to go East to the Black Sea to meet up with Joscha´s parents. However a day of driving in the rain did little to appeal to any of us. We could stay with the rats, or we could drive to Sofia, as we had no food with us, Sofia was an hour away and we could see the city and get some INTERNET done.
Sounds so good and so easy.
Toss in some PMS and no food until 3 pm, and you have what Alix would term a berserker Sherrie.
One temper tantrum and some tears later, (along with some wine, and more of Ed´s decadent cooking, oh how that cooking is going to be missed), we decide to swallow the price of the apartment (which really was not that far out of budget) and go back to our Argentinian rule of always having emergency food on hand, just so that I dont kill Patrick on a whim. After all, Betty is too heavy to pick up by myself. :P

woke in pravet to continuing rain…..now we were getting to the point were we needed to make some distance in order to make the meeting with joscha’s parents…they were arriving in nessabar on the black sea coast the following morning….450km east….research wasn’t promising much for motorcycle chains in that direction….riding all day in rain didn’t appeal at all….sofia was just an hour west and we already had a contact for the chain and other necessities!!!!....the choice should have been easy, but we new that we would be sacrificing the visit with steven and anemone!!!! and it also meant that joscha and i would be ending our traveling together!!!!...hard choices….in the end we all road to sophia together….and arranged for my chain to be installed the next morning and sherri had her front tire mounted….then a nice home cooked meal together in the apartment we rented…..

we had a nice last night together…stayed up a bit too late…but got a lot of stuff taken care of…including laundry….the place had a machine so we decided that we would stay two nights…got soap…everything was super convenient at this place…..even had a garage for the bikes….or so we thought…in the morning when joscha left for nessabar, i went to tell the host that we would like to stay for a second night…he said ok but that the bikes needed to be out of the garage….until 7pm….and that the price was staying the rate we paid the night before not reduced to the rate he had told us the day before for three!!! HUH? well what ever…i went down to say good bye to joscha…i informed the others and we decided i should question the new situation further!!!!....joscha rode out:(
i went to ask why we had to pay the extra charge and leave the garage…..’your too much trouble and don’t appreciate the favors i have already given you’...’it would be best for me if you leave’....’yes please leave by 11am’ seriously?....

joscha left in the morning and ten minutes later we were on the street….things change fast when you live on the road!!!we packed our things…still wet from the washer!!!..then i went to have my chain replaced….when i met up with patrick and sherri…it was raining again…we went shopping then headed south….hoping to find dry weather and the rila monestary….

kudos to the folks at motoboom in sophia….super helpful staff…above and beyond…great shop tech too….highly recommend the shop if you need anythng for your bikes near sophia….
