back where we started

i crossed the border into croatia and found myself on a road that joscha and i had taken three months prior….weird…i wouldn’t have thought with all the roads and choices that i would end up going on the same one twice….but there were differences….the first time we went south…now i was headed north….and this time it was the middle of the day and i was in no hurry….last time joscha and i where searching for a camping place and running out of day light!!!!.....needless to say the road was much nicer than i remember…..

deep in the woods

entered slovenia in the late evening…it is easy to cover great distances when riding alone…i’ve been averaging over 350km per day since setting off on my own….tonight i was intent on stopping early and getting a good nights rest…the riding has been hell on my back…but with a good nights rest all is rejuvenated….i was in a logging area and kept passing places that looked promising….finally chose one and went thru the trees….seemed too nice to be a logging road….saw a couple of spots that i could have set camp but they were right on the ‘road’..all of a sudden i’m out of the trees and in a clearing with several houses…the first house a man was looking at me like i was from outer space…i stopped and asked if they spoke english…the old guy set the younger kid running…in a minute the kid returns with an older kid who spoke english!!!!!...i asked if i could camp in the woods….of coarse…camp anywhere….so i thanked them…declined the offer of a drink and went off riding thru the pine forest in search of a quiet place….
