bitter cold

the riding has been spectacular….its now tues. still in czech and riding wonderful countryside roads, we are starting to really get into the idea that we will be doing this for twelve weeks, of coarse i say that and it has only been 4 days but any who….we are having a great time and we get along quite well together, thinking similarly about what we should do next etc…..for another perspective on the adventure please check out my travel companion’s page, user name ‘nepomunk’. so we are back to camping and the days have been super nice, warm sun for the most part with scattered showers that seem to miss us some how!!! but then i need to remember that it is still may and when the sun goes down so does the warmth!!! so tonight we4 found this cool camp ground and set about our routine of setting camp and getting the fire going to cook dinner…..tonite we feast on sausage and potatoes. so of coarse a fire takes some time to get to a cooking heat and we are starving, potatoes take time to cook in the best of situations, so i improvise by cutting them into slices and grilling them! it was like making thick cut potato chips, still took 20 minutes but beats an hour for baked….
anyway, that night in the tent was cold as hell and i woke with a head cold that i suffered with all day

well, just read some comments and i’m thrilled that you are enjoying the entries….some answers to your question…...one, i’m a terrible typist, and the european keypad takes some getting used to, and i’m not editing this, so please forgive the mistakes….and believe it or not no pot, i’m just that silly…...
today we rode into slovenia and then back into croatia, the two countries in this area are incredibly different, slovenia seems to have a much better economy and way better roads…..still we spent most of the day skirting the border on the croatian side….things surprisingly are more expensive in croatia…especially gas and food…the only things tha t we need…..so there are vinyards are all the hillsides here..all little private lots.. we stopped at several to see if we could camp and finally found some one to say yes, they let us build a fire and then they brought out some of their wine and sat with us and tslked for about an hour as we cooked dinner….so nice, averyone we have come across has been so friendly to us.
todays riding was tough because we were riding on very narrrow mountain roads that had lots of gravel at the worst possible spots, my concentration was not what it should have been, looking to close to the front iof my bike and too concerned about sliding out, gripping my handle bars too tightly, as if that would help….honestly it just tires you out and doesn’t do jack. stay loose….it’s more than a motto, then there was the bus, a fucking bus on these roads in the middle of so where…..but there is not a middle of nowhere when you are in europe, you are always close to a town and all the towns are connected by bus, you just never nknow what you will find around that next corner…..an amazing church perched high on the hill side, such spectacular scenery…..
